Overseas Graduate Entrepreneur stream under Nova Scotia PNP is aimed at fresh graduates from Colleges and Universities in Nova Scotia. They must have launched or purchased a business in the province and managed it for a minimum of 12 months.
Applicants who fulfill these criteria and plan to settle permanently in Nova Scotia can become eligible for nomination from the province under this stream.
Labor Market Priorities Nova Scotia
The stream Labor Market Priorities aims at candidates in Express Entry having work experience in highly demanded occupations in Nova Scotia. It is accepting applications only from candidates having experience in the NOC 4214 occupation of Early Childhood Educators and Assistants since 2018 August.
The stream Occupations In-Demand under Nova Scotia PNP targets workers having an offer of a job in an in-demand field from an employer in Nova Scotia. Only the following occupations are qualified for this stream currently:
- NOC 3413 -Nurses Aides, Patient Service Associates and Orderlies
- NOC 7511 – Truck Transport Drivers
- NOC 7521 – Operators – Heavy Equipment; excluding crane
- NOC 7611 -Construction Trades Laborers and Helpers

Express Entry Demand Nova Scotia
The Demand Express Entry stream is for highly skilled people having an education at the post-secondary level. They must also possess credentials assisting them to settle successfully in Nova Scotia.
You can apply directly to the NSOI – Nova Scotia Office of Immigration. Alternatively, they can also be chosen from the pool in Express Entry by NSOI. The Primary Applicant has to create a profile in the Express Entry system in any case. They must also file a full application with the NSOI.
The stream has 2 sub-categories:
Approved Employment in Nova Scotia
This stream mandates the applicants to possess a prearranged offer of a job backed by an affirmative LMIA – Labour Market Impact Assessment from an employer in Nova Scotia. The offer of a job has to be a NOC – National Occupational Classification skill level B, A, or 0 Occupation.
Work Experience Paid in an Opportunity Job
This stream requires a minimum of 1 year of full-time continuous paid work experience or corresponding part-time experience in the last 10 years. It must be in any of the Opportunity Jobs.
Minimum Requirements – Applicants
Candidates for becoming qualified for the Express Entry Demand Nova Scotia stream are required to
- Possess an overseas credential, certificate, or diploma and its equivalency evaluated by a designated agency or an educational credential in Canada
- Possess a minimum of 1 year of full-time continuous paid work experience or corresponding part-time experience in the last 10 years in a skill level B, A, or 0 occupations
- Fulfill the language proficiency requirement. Currently, it is CLB – Canadian Language Benchmark 7 in all 4 components of language. This can be in either French or English by offering results of a language test from either of the following:
- English – IELTS or CELPIP (only General Training Test)
- French – TEF
Minimum Requirements – Employers
For qualifying under this stream, the below criteria also must be fulfilled:
- The employer must possess a background of good business and workplace practices
- The employer has to comply with all the appropriate regulations and laws
- The employer has to offer a permanent, full-time job offer to the applicant. The job has to:
- Be under NOC Skill Type B, A, or 0
- Be situated in Nova Scotia
- Offer a salary that fulfills the standards for provincial employment and current rates of wage
- Be a position having scarcity of eligible citizens or permanent residents for filling the position
- Not flout any current labor standards /agreements, unit agreements, or have any employment row
The employer has to show adequate hiring efforts for filling the job opening with a permanent resident or citizen in Canada
