Canadian Experience Class

What Is Canadian Experience Class

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is for skilled workers with Canadian work experience who wish to settle in Canada as permanent residents. It is one of three federal immigration programs run by the Express Entry program, which is the fastest way to apply for a PR Canada visa.

Why should you apply under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)?

There are three major advantages to applying for permanent residence in Canada through the CEC:

What are the minimum requirements for CEC?

To apply for a PR visa through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), you must meet the following minimum requirements:

Language

You must reach the minimum language level of:

  • Level 7 of the Canadian Language Benchmark (NCLC) for skill level 0 or type A of the National Occupational Classification (NOC);
  • CLB level 5 for CNP type B

You must ensure that your language test results are valid on the day of your application for permanent residence.

Education

There are no education requirements for the Canadian Experience Class.

Professional experience

Must have a minimum of one year Canadian work experience within the past 3 years in a skilled occupation. These occupations must be classified under NOC skill level 0 (management occupations) OR type A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades). Work experience must be gained while working in Canada under temporary resident status with permission to work.

Eligibility

You must be admissible to Canada.

Where can you live in Canada?

In addition, you must live outside Quebec. Quebec has an immigration program to nominate skilled workers for permanent residency.
